The novel, Accident, written by Daniel Steel is fast paced and heart stopping. This book is about two girls, Allyson and Chloe, who lie to their parents to go out with older boys. They go out in one of the boys cars and get into an accident. Page Clark, Allysons mother, rushed to the hospital to see what happened. Her husband, Brad, is once again out of town on a business trip, but this time he did not leave a phone number where she can contact him. This not only makes Page upset because she cannot let her husband know that their daughter was in an accident, but also confused because she doesnt know what he might really be doing. Page is stuck at the hospital, alone, trying to deal with the fact that Allyson may not survive. That is, until she meets Trygve, Chloes father, who stays with Page as much as he can to give her the support she needs. As they become closer friends, Brad is still no where to be found, and the doctors dont know what will happen to Allyson
